Pouring over photos and leafing through articles on violent crimes within prison systems in the US there was one common thread. You can make a shiv out of almost everything. Most I've seen were made of some kind of scrap metal filed down and wrapped up (some with lanyards). The ones that were the most fascinating were the one fabricated from "shank free" materials, such as plastics. Hence, The Prison Pal.
